  • How do I start the process?

    It starts with an initial consultation to learn about you and your company. During the meeting we will discuss what you want to accomplish in terms of your financial goals and personal objectives. Based on this discussion we will decide what makes sense with next steps. This could be an engagement together or providing you with other resources or information. The initial consultation is free, and the goal is to determine if it makes sense to work together in a formal engagement.

    If you are interested in an initial consultation, email Jeanine Barkan at jbarkan@myexitus.com to schedule an appointment. You don’t need to bring anything or provide any data for this consultation. It will last approximately one hour.

  • What is the price for a Pre-exit Evaluation?

    Typically, the price will range from $2,500 to $7,500 depending upon the level of service provided. One-half of the price is due at the start of the engagement and the balance is due at completion.

  • What data is required for the Pre-Exit Evaluation?

    • Most recent three years of tax returns

    • Backup of Quickbooks (preferred) or internal financial statements for past three years

    • Typically, 1 to 2 interactions of emails and/or phone/zoom calls asking follow-up questions or additional data request

    • Brief questionnaire or assessment (as needed)

  • How long does the Pre-exit Evaluation take to complete?

    After receipt of data, it takes approximately 2 to 3 weeks.

  • What format is the Pre-Exit Evaluation delivered?

    We meet either in-person or via Zoom to review the results in a presentation style format. You will receive a copy after the meeting.

  • What happens after the Pre-exit Evaluation?

    We may continue to work together either preparing the business for market or through the transaction process after connecting with a buyer or business broker. A separate engagement letter and price for that work will be provided. In other instances, further services of ours may not be needed at this time or at all. It may be appropriate to connect you to other professionals that can take you to the next milestone. In any case, the objective is to take you as far as you want to go in the business exit process providing you the information and support you need to make informed decisions.

    Typically, businesses that generate between $1 million and $10 million is where we provide the most value. However, we’ve worked with smaller and larger, so it really depends on a variety of factors. It’s best for us to meet and determine if it makes sense for us to work together.
